3D Character Animation Video references

Here are some videos I found for my 3D Animation class which I will use as a reference to hopefully portray a sneak attack on an unsuspecting guard or something. Kind of Rambo or stalking type of action. Here is a video of Solid Snake from the game Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

This second video is of Rambo beheading someone. I am planning on using this video just for camera reference for my final render.

This is the kind of sneaky walk I want to do but with a bit more character and pause in action as If he is stalking someone. I am planning on adding a character to which he attacks but If not, I want to make sure the walk looks believable.

Final Amalgamated Segment (Schizophrenic Hallucination)

Here is the final piece, with sound. I think it came together quite well. Enjoy.

Production Status: Experimental Project 2: Amalgamated Segment.

In the past few days, I have decided on the aesthetic of my piece for the most part and have drawn most of the frames which will be in the animation. So far, since I have no characters per say, I am trying to give the random tentacles and morphing objects some character of their own with stagger and anticipation within the movements to bring more intensity and velocity to the morphing which occurs near the end.

I shall be posting this with sound at the latest by Wednesday morning (I may post a soundless version tomorrow afternoon so I can acquire some feed back from peers).

Cheers,

-D

Production Status: Experimental Project 2: Amalgamated segment

I have been toying with the idea to either trace or semi copy the image I have with the stairs show here:

This would then be my main background, where everything takes place and inter dispersed every few frames would be the actual photograph, If all goes according to plan, it should seem as if the image flashes alive with colour. I am planning to take this image and make it in some way intriguing, mysterious and terrifying with objects coming alive and twisting and morphing into faces and tentacles. This idea stems from hallucinations (not necessarily drug induced) and schizophrenia. When the real life image flashes how ever many times (which is to be decided based on timing of the piece) the altered reality would trigger and come alive, then the image would flash again, leaving the original background.

My hope is that the viewer is left startled and that it describes the sporadic nature of a hallucination coming from a fractured mind.

Experimental Animation Exploration

Here are a few photographs I took around Granville Island as my exploratory walk, I rarely ever go down that area and I thought it was one of the neatest areas on the island as the textures and images I have chosen to use come off as medieval or somehow historical. In particular, I like the images of the stairway leading down to the water as it made me think of an entrance or portal to a fantasy realm of some sort. I plan on using that particular image as my starting point for my amalgamated segment piece.
